Panasonic UB820 Blu-ray Player Multi Region Hack - Full guide!!
Watch how to install the Rattlebyte Multi-region chip into a Panasonic UB820 4k Blu-ray Player to enable all regions of blu-ray and DVD discs to be played. I couldn't find any clear videos on exactly what's involved for the UB820 so I hope this helps anyone that's looking for information or just some reassurance on the process!
I'm very satisfied with the end result and get to watch all of my multi-region collection.
I bought my Rattlebyte chip directly from their website:

DIY Smart Garden Lights For $20!!
Переглядів 2682 роки тому
It was cheap and easy to make my existing garden lights smart using a TP-Link smart plug. Making your home smart can get complicated with so many different systems to deal with. I didn't want to add another app / service to my lighting set up. I already have multiple devices with the TP-Link Kasa App and wanted to stick with this service as it's been very reliable for me. DIY Electric Blinds. Save $$$!!! Here's How..

Motorise your blinds. It's cheap, easy and awesome! Here's how I did it. After renovating our house and getting some lovely patio doors installed, I realised that I needed some shading for those rare sunny days in the UK! When looking to purchase some roller blinds, I didn't want a cord dangling in the middle of the doors and the only way to prevent that was to get electric blinds. Originally I...

Apple-style Ad - iPhone 4s - Introducing Wireless Charging

An Apple-style advert to show my wireless charging iPhone 4s and the bedside table lamp with built-in charger I made. iPhone 4s Wireless Charging Hack Demo and Tutorial
Переглядів 536 тис.12 років тому
Here is a montage of photos that I took while modifying my iPhone 4s to build in wireless charging. There are wireless charging options out there such as the powermat system but they all involve slipping on a jacket around the iPhone. I wanted to internalize the technology so that the beauty of the iPhone is not hidden away! It's taken a while to complete but it's finally done. Initially I had ...
The fact that regioblockations still exist is shocking, EU and other big countries or unions should finally ban it, that's the only solution, they will never stop with that if we don't force them. A lot of shows were never in my country, for example Walking Dead on blu-ray is mostly import in English only, how can I know what region it is? I am not sherlock holmes.
I cannot for the life of me remove the cover the way you quickly speed through the process here. This "guide" was more annoying than helpful.😕Does anyone have an actual step-by-step guide?
Mf made the iPhone 8 five years before Apple
For those wondering, if you under powered this, it would still run, just not at full speed, because the xbox has no battery or source to draw a certain amount of power your processor and system would just run slow, it won't shut off as long as your wattage is above 20
Can you do firmware updates from Panasonic website after you do this mod? Or you just stuck with the Mod firmware forever?
Could have been far better .. You spent more time picking the out of focus shots + loud music than showing the important info on the disassembly and chip fitment
This is very well put together video and as far as I can tell the only one online relating to this mod, however, I really wish more time had been taken to show the disassemble of the unit (tricky getting the cover off) and the full modding process in more detail instead of quick sharp cuts. Hopefully I can find more detailed information elsewhere as the instructions that come with it are pretty barebones as well. Edit: finally got the cover off without breaking it which I thought I was going to and after looking in more detail at your video and pausing it at certain shots I was confused about which wires on the open ended cable harness as they didn't seem to match with the lettering on the mod itself. I went on the rattlebyte website and clicked on the cable harness page and was able to see which wires specifically were correct - that's something that should be in the instructions really. Anyway, I'm not good at soldering but it's only 6 points and after a little trial and error everything seemed connected OK. The firmware updated and it's working so I guess as long as I don't touch it everything will be fine!
You might as well make a video showing which wires have been soldering...with more detailed information. I'd like to try but am afraid of making some mistake.
music is a bit distracting
Love the camera work, did you just film statically and edit the panning in edit?
Would you have to open the Xbox or could you plug it in with the normal cord and cut it to attach the wires there
Are you able to perform normal Firmware updates now? Great video thanks
For $37 you can buy the power supply itself hopefully that’s what’s wrong with mine. No light beeps nothing happens
Would this work with an Xbox one s s well?
Oh yeh, really painless dismantling your player and having to have genius level soldering skills. So no, not quite ‘painless’
Very basic soldering skills to do this mod
I feel like you missed highlighting one of the most important features, and I would have liked to see a review of using it. The ability to load Subtitles from USB to use with a Blu-ray, so that you can play foreign movies and add English subtitles even if they're not included on the disc. My player does work with the "Magic button combo" so, the ability to load external subs really is the only thing I'd buy this for.
Any update on your Xbox? Has the power supply gaven out or you noticed anything?
Thanks for watching and I’m happy to report that it’s still going strong! No random crashes or shutdowns.

At 2:31, that little green board/chip with the qr code, is that the wifi chip? In between the steel/metal sheet? The one where it gets a close up at 2:34 on the upper left, where it has a wire coming out of it.
Thanks for watching the video! And yes, that's the wifi board.
@@robotanv Thank you!
@@robotanv If you disconnect the cable it has attached there, would that disable the wifi or even cut power to the wifi board?
@@munfurai8083 I assume so but I’m not sure what other functions, if any, might be disabled.
@@robotanv thanks
I'm confused as the official listing for this player states Plays Blu-ray Discs Zones A B & C Plays DVDs from regions 1-8
Thanks for watching the video! As far as I'm aware, an unmodified UB850 can only play region-locked 1080p blurays and DVDs for the region in which it is sold. 4k blurays generally aren't region locked so can play anywhere. If the listing you're looking at says otherwise, it has likely been modified which isn't necessarily a problem but you won't have a warranty from Panasonic.
Dodgy soldering skills and why on earth would you mount the board on top a disc tray. Amateur 🙄
You see, even an amateur can install this!
Very useful mod that is cheaper than buying a region free player. I have been soldering all my life so fitting the kit will not be an issue.
Thanks for watching the video and delighted you found it of use!
Yet for 99% of people who have never soldered it a massive issue
@@iio58 You are never too old to learn a new skill. Buy a soldering iron kit and some cheap components and practice on them first
Love the content 👌 love how you explain everything few questions is there not a slimmer better PowerBank option n did you ever do anything else after this build
Appreciate the love! Haven't followed up yet, but will eventually! I also use the Baseus blade powerbank which can power the XBox and is only 1cm thick! There's a link in the description for that powerbank if you want to check it out.
The last part of the mod is disconnecting your doorbell!
Haha! Agreed!

Just want to say thank you. Gonna try this today hope this works looks like a easy and fun thing to do
Bonjour, avez vous réussi ? De mon côté non.
DIY means do it yourself, as in: build the thing from scratch💁 It doesn't mean: purchase the completed product you want from a website🤦
Most people aren’t interested in designing blinds from scratch. Automated blinds can cost thousands so this was a good diy for the installation and ordering vs using a full service company
Oh get over yourself, what are you expecting people to sow the blinds themselves as well? By hand.. Buying a seperate motor and wiring it in yourself is not buying the completed thing - that can cost hundreds of pounds.
Far out, give him a break, Frown extraordinaire….
DIY means don't pay someone to fit something. People who DIY their bathroom are not making baths, sinks and toilets from scratch?!
So er ... Wheres the follow up video dude?
This guy really blew his shot at becoming a UA-camr
Very cool 😎
How did you drill into the lintel. Thanks
Great job on the video.
Cool video, was wondering if anyone did this. Any follow up info?
Well this is a great discovery of this video for me. My switch lite has the traces ripped off at the charging port. So if I just remove it and put this wireless charging device. It will be usable again. Very nice !
what size wire?
